Kicking off a strategic partnership that delivers a fully-integrated Unified Communications solution with superior stability and intelligence, Elastix announces mutual certification for its open-source iPBX software and Patton's SmartNode VoIP IADs at ITEXPO this week
GAITHERSBURG, Md. -- Patton--the leader in business and carrier-class network access, connectivity, VoIP and mobile video-surveillance equipment--in alliance with the Elastix project--an open source Unified Communication distribution--will exhibit together at ITEXPO in Miami, 2-4 February, promoting their mutually-certified unified communications solution.
The certified-interoperable Patton-Elastix platform features Patton's SmartNode[TM] VoIP gateway-routers interoperating with the Elastix open source iPBX and such related functional modules as call center, CRM, email and fax.
By partnering with Patton, Elastix now offers its community of developers and integrators a whole new set of features and innovations that will add value to customer solutions.
The integrated Elastix-Patton system delivers a complete, fully-tested unified communications solution with greatly expanded capabilities at the network edge.
SmartNode provides system enhancements that include local and remote-office survivability, SIP trunking, Quality of Service, distributed call control, IP link redundancy, PSTN breakout and fallback, dial-backup/failover, VoIP-over-VPN security with encrypted voice via IPsec with AES/DES strong encryption, automated keying via Internet Key Exchange (IKE), plus SIP Registrar for presence/reachability.
"SmartNode is world-renowned for stability," said Edgar Landivar, CEO at PaloSanto Solutions and co-founder of the Elastix initiative, "providing not only advanced calling features for enterprises, but confidence and peace of mind for the entire community. Patton delivers the network-edge intelligence and flexibility that enterprises deploying Elastix-based systems require. We see highly-strategic synergies between our organizations. We expect many new opportunities and applications to stem from this partnership."
"Open source is clearly a driving force in the Unified Communications era," said Ernesto Casas, Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at Patton. "Elastix is a key industry player--and the most active in my region. I also feel very proud that Elastix was born in my region, rising so quickly to become a well-known name with a widely adopted platform across the globe."
Elastix co-founder, Edgar Landivar, with Patton's Ernesto Casas, will be meeting ITEXPO delegates at Booth 1009. Addressing potential visitors, Senor Casas said, "Be sure to stop by--at least to say 'hola!'"
