NSW:New organ transport system will save lives

A new system for transporting donated organs will start in New South Wales next year,
which authorities say will save lives.

Highway patrol has been responsible for delivering donated organs to patients in desperate
need since the 1980s.

As of January one next year, their job will get a little easier, with a joint system
between police and NSW Health to be put in place allowing a single phone call to kick-start
the process.

NSW Police Commissioner ANDREW SCIPIONE says the new single-call process will mean
a one stop shop system that will ultimately save time and lives.

  1. I think this is great news considering all those stories and reports we hear about organ failure. Any new breakthroughs or improvemens is always welcome. Whatever way or system that may come to help save more lives is always great.
